“They bring to us music that celebrates the power of transformation, the reward of and the joy of diversity. They challenge us not to listen. ” (SLATE: New Age, May 2006)
What would Bangladesh sound like if it was not a country but a sound? Would it be a lonely flute playing a Bhatiyali tune, with waves whispering in the background? Or an ektara with its magical monotony, accompanying a hungry fakir crying out to the Omnipotent? Or would it be the sound of 140 million people screaming out in agony, while the traffic of the city tries desperately to drown them out?
Bangla is the sound of Bangladesh – its struggles, its glories, its joys and its agonies.
A city Band with a Baul soul.
